TUNE IN: ARN’s iHeart Reopens Melbourne’s Most Infamous Cold Case in New True Crime Podcast “The Easey Street Murders”

Today, ARN’s iHeart together with Australia’s #1 Crime podcast Casefile announced the launch of a bone-chilling new podcast, "The Easey Street Murders," unravelling one of Australia’s most haunting cold cases. Listeners on the iHeart app will have access to binge the entire series from launch, with episodes dropping weekly on all other podcast platforms.

Forty-seven years ago, tragedy struck Easey Street, Collingwood, when Susan Bartlett and Suzanne Armstrong were brutally murdered in their own home. The inexplicable nature of this crime left a scar on the nation's conscience. Despite a million-dollar reward and years of investigation, justice remains elusive. The haunting question lingers: who is responsible for this unfathomable act?

Award-winning journalist Helen Thomas, known for her dogged investigation of this case, dedicated over a decade to unravelling the mysteries behind Susan and Suzanne’s tragic deaths. Initially investigating for ABC’s "Background Briefing" and chronicling her findings in the book "Murder On Easey Street," Thomas will lead audiences through the labyrinthine depths of this enigmatic case in the podcast.

"We know that justice delayed is not justice denied," said Thomas. "But after nearly 50 years, how long much longer do Suzanne Armstrong and Susan Bartlett have to wait for their killer to be found?"

Throughout the series, Thomas will conduct in-depth interviews with the victims’ loved ones, unearth overlooked witnesses within Easey Street, and engage retired law enforcement officers who were present at the scene of the crime, painting a vivid and haunting picture of that fateful night in January 1977.

“Casefile continues to deliver stories that capture the imagination of Australians, and the unsolved Easey Street Murders are no different,” said Corey Layton, ARN’s Head of Digital Audio. “This unique partnership enables audiences to listen to the podcast weekly wherever they get their podcasts, or to binge every episode now via the iHeart app.”

"The Easey Street Murders" is a co-production of iHeartPodcasts and Casefile True Crime. Binge all episodes of "The Easey Street Murders" now, exclusively on the iHeart app or weekly wherever you get your podcasts.
