National Radio Host Delilah Celebrates 25-Year Anniversary Of Nighttime Radio Program

LOS ANGELES, May 5, 2011 – Premiere Networks is proud to announce that popular radio personality Delilah is celebrating the 25-year anniversary of her nationally syndicated nighttime radio program Delilah. Heard on approximately 200 radio stations in the U.S., the program has nearly nine million weekly listeners, making Delilah the most-listened-to woman on radio in the country. The top-rated show broadcasts daily from 7 p.m. to midnight in all time zones and features Delilah’s distinctive blend of storytelling, sympathetic listening and encouragement – all scored with adult contemporary music.

Delilah stated, “After 25 years, I still get excited to welcome my listeners each night as we share our hopes and dreams, dilemmas and laughs, along with great music. I want to thank the team at Premiere for their support as we continue to reach many more milestones together.”

Julie Talbott, Premiere Networks president, content and affiliate relations stated, “Delilah’s passion for music and sincere desire to connect with her audience have made her an enduring star in the radio industry. We’re delighted to celebrate this incredible anniversary with her.”

As she celebrates this 25-year anniversary, Delilah continues to expand her brand, further connecting with millions of listeners and fans, and providing national sponsors like General Motors, Walgreens, Pier 1 Imports and The Home Depot with direct access to her loyal female audience. That brand extension reaches beyond the radio dial as she focuses on furthering both local and national charitable efforts. In addition to her work with Point Hope - her foundation which focuses on refugee children in Ghana and on special needs children in the U.S. foster-care system, Delilah recently partnered with The Home Depot to bring her second annual Paint the Town promotion to Belleville, Ill., where she joined 1,000 volunteers in giving the town’s Main Street a much-needed makeover. Delilah also recently became a spokesperson for Together for Kids, a national alliance of children’s hospitals dedicated to building a healthier future for America’s kids. Her goal is to help raise money and awareness for the organization, which provides an urgently-needed national fundraising mechanism for its member hospitals, helping them care for seriously ill children and tackle the toughest health issues facing all children.

About Delilah
Often referred to as the “Oprah of Radio,” Delilah embraced the medium when she was a middle-schooler in Reedsport, Oregon, reporting school news and sports on KDUN-AM, a small station in her hometown. In 1996, “Delilah After Dark” went into national syndication, and in 2004, Delilah joined Premiere Networks national lineup. Today, her soothing voice, open heart and love of music have expanded her audience from the folks in Reedsport to nearly nine million weekly listeners. Delilah is also the author of “Love Matters.” Published by Harlequin Books, the book features Delilah’s perspective on love, as well as stories from her listeners. As a single mother of 11 children, eight of whom she adopted, Delilah has established a foundation called Point Hope as a voice for forgotten children everywhere. Daily broadcasts, caring for her children, running a foundation, writing books, traveling and public speaking add up to a very busy life for Delilah, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
