WHAT:          iHeartPodcasts, the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, and Grim & Mild, Aaron Mahnke’s darkly historical production company, today announced “Consumed,” an original scripted audio thriller from Executive Producer Aaron Mahnke, (Lore13 Days of Halloween12 Ghosts). Created by screenwriter Carlos Foglia (Lore, Wolfpack, Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol) and inspired by Mahnke’s novel of the same name, the new 12-part podcast will transport listeners into a dark and frightening, supernatural tale set in New England.

SYNOPSIS:   When struggling journalist Sarah Simmons finds herself stranded in a small, idyllic town for a weekend, her unexpected vacation turns into a nightmare. Steeped in history and filled with legends and lore about the woods near the centuries old cemetery, the residents of Danville, New Hampshire soon learn that the past is not always meant to be forgotten. Their tranquil lives will be forever changed, while the hope of a future without terror rests on the shoulders of a stranger who may hold the keys to the past.

WHO:

  • Rachel Rosenbloom (Good Trouble, Silicon Valley) as Sarah Simmons, an aspiring but out of work journalist compelled to investigate a string of mysterious deaths in Danville.
  • Arturo Castro (Broad City, Narcos, Alternatino with Arturo Castro) as Gordon Morales, a fish-out-of-water intellectual librarian that teams up with Sarah to re-examine the dark history of this small town.
  • Ruth Connell (Supernatural, Dead Boy Detectives) as Sheriff Max Allen, an overqualified police officer who has found herself the head cop in this normally sleepy town that has just seen its first murder in decades.
  • Genevieve Padalecki (Supernatural, Flash Forward) as Rema Brooder, the matriarch of one of the town’s founding families who will do the unthinkable to keep her family safe.
  • Misha Collins (Supernatural, Gotham Knights) reprising his role as Professor Jeremy Bradshaw, a professor of folklore straddling the line between skeptic and believer, from the smash-hit podcast “Bridgewater.”

WHEN:          The first and second episode will launch January 31 with subsequent episodes dropping weekly on Wednesdays.

WHERE:       “Consumed” is distributed by iHeartPodcasts and available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.
