iHeartMedia’s My Cultura Podcast Network, Sonoro, And Trojan Horse Launch “Paradise Lost: Crime in Miami,” a New Original Podcast That Delves Into Miami’s Most Notorious Felons
WHAT: iHeartMedia’s My Cultura, a podcast network dedicated to elevating Latinx voices and creators and sharing the Latinx experience with millions of listeners, Sonoro, and Trojan Horse teamed up to launch “Paradise Lost: Crime in Miami.” The new My Cultura podcast is hosted by Kareem Tabsch, an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, and Joey Daoud, a media producer and founder of New Territory Media.
“Paradise Lost: Crime in Miami” is a conversation between friends, both South Florida natives, about the notorious true crime cases that have occurred in their home state. In each episode cohosts Kareem Tabsch and Joey Daoud narrate the facts of the case, with details, anecdotes, and general color offered by an interview guest with a connection to the crime whether it’s journalists who covered it, the investigators who solved it, survivors or the perpetrators themselves. The podcast shares stories of true crimes committed right under the Florida sun, from the outrageous to the utterly bizarre. The first episode will examine Griselda Blanco, the infamous Colombian drug lord of the Medellín Cartel and in the Miami-based cocaine drug trade known as the Black Widow and God Mother for being one of the few women who ran a huge drug operation in a man's world.
Other high-profile crimes investigated will include the true story of Rudy Eugene, known for the “Miami Zombie attack” after he attacked and maimed a homeless man; Yahweh Ben Yahweh, a killer cult leader; world-famous fashion designer Gianni Versace; Jeremy Macauley, who was accused of gunning down a Florida Keys couple in October 2015 over a cocaine extortion and is awaiting a new trial this year; and many more.
