Guerrilla publishing requires a team of balls-out pros serious about tearing a hole in the status quo. This is that team:
Michelle Rae Anderson
Michelle is a writer, digital strategist and community builder with 20 years of media development experience. She spear-heads the most ambitious I Heart Media project to date: the multimedia, multi-platform, content strategy and storytelling experiment The Miracle in July. Her book Venice is for Lovers:Erotica from The Miracle in July—Act One is the first title published by I Heart Media Press. She makes beautiful websites, thoughtful digital strategies, and one hell of a pie.
Sarah Holloway
Grant writer, puppeteer, mythology expert. I Heart Media depends on Sarah to deftly craft messages that solicit sympathetic cash from granting organizations, to oversee our large-scale projects, and to edit to perfection our messages. She is currently charged with planning the transition of the nearly 100,000 word first draft web serial of The Miracle in July into the book version. (This is no easy task, to be perfectly clear.) Every publisher provocateur needs a creative Swiss-army-knife gal like Sarah in their arsenal…but you can only borrow ours. You understand, I’m sure.
Robin Cangie
Digital marketing is practiced by many but understood by few (as evidenced by the embarrassing number of Twitter bios with the phrase “social media guru” or the like in them). But of these few who “get” digital marketing, there are even fewer who are as smart, holistic and passionate about what the future holds as Robin is. Equal parts street smart and book smart, Robin’s marketing communications, copywriting and content strategy skills bring a whole new level of awesome to the I Heart Media publishing revolution. Robin is also a prolific blogger and the talent behind Idioma Jewelry, the design firm that makes the gorgeous MIJ Perception Pendant.
Robin Catesby
Content often needs to be managed by a professional code wrangler, someone who can subdue unruly lines of CSS and disarm databases gone rogue with a shrug-and-it’s-done. I Heart Media has Robin for that, a knowledgeable and extremely competent expert in the content management system WordPress. Robin makes highly functional websites that are fully integrated with digital marketing tools. E-commerce, portfolios, membership sites—Robin has done them all, beautifully. She also has 15+ years experience in various theater-related projects and is the engaging and entertaining karaoke host at Vox Populi Karaoke on most Wednesday nights at the Ethiopian restaurant Mudai in Portland, Oregon.
Jerry Holloway
I Heart Media has no qualms about the legitimacy of our claim to have an expert video storyteller on our provocative team, because Jerry has been creating scenes for the camera since the tender age of eight with the help of a gigantic VHS camcorder and buckets of fake blood and boogers. Since then, Jerry has succumbed to the typical life choice of going to college to get his BA in Dead White Guy literature, and then his Masters in Film with a Minor in Screenplay writing and the Real New York Experience. Jerry was the chief editor of the web serial version of The Miracle in July, a phase in the storytelling experiment that lasted almost a year.
